Coordinator, Civic and Community Initiatives
Reports to: SVP, Civic and Community Initiatives
Overview: This role supports the Civic and Community Initiatives programs in service to the Chamber’s strategic plan.

Responsibilities:
25% Facilitate the KC Chamber’s Talent initiative and any successor programs.
- Collaborate with Public Policy team to scope initiative and plan project and deliverables.
- Manage volunteer committee(s) including planning, facilitation and convenings.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate effectiveness of content and results.
- Refine and evolve experience as needed to ensure program sustainability.
- Support Director, World Trade Center – Kansas City on Trade Mission including destination research.
- Support SVP, Civic and Community Initiatives on Catalyst experience including destination research.
- Collaborate with Strategic Partnership and Events teams to curate content and experience, execute logistics and deliver delegate communications.
- Measure results.
- Coordinate speakers and moderators as needed.
- Collaborate with Events team on planning and execution.
- Measure results.
- Support Director – Leadership Programs on annual ATHENA program including honoree selection process and committee engagement.
- Collaborate with Events team on awards program execution.
- Support Chamber events including, but not limited to, Annual Dinner, Kansas City Chiefs Kickoff Lunch, Kansas City Current Kickoff Lunch, Small Business Awards, Power of Diversity, Neighborhood Networking, etc.
- Participate in other programmatic and membership activities as needed to support Strategic Partnerships and revenue generation.

Education and Experience:
- Four-year college degree and at least 2 year’s relevant experience required
- Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
FLSA Classification:
- Full-time, Non-exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Intern oversight
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position a minimum of 75% of the time
- Needs to occasionally move about to assist with meeting room set-ups
