Community Outreach Coordinator

Connections to Success (CtS) is seeking a full time, Community Outreach Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The Community Outreach Coordinator works closely with all other program staff, volunteers, and participants and is responsible for communicating the goals of the program and facilitating meaningful experiences that result in participant success. The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for participant recruitment, promoting the organization/program, increasing community awareness and support by creating partnerships with faith-based communities, social service providers, and government agencies in the Kansas City region.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a participant recruitment strategy to achieve recruitment goal
• Monitor participant enrollment and provide weekly updates to program staff and leadership
• Recruit participants, mentors for participants, and volunteers for Connections to Success programs
• Conduct intake and enrollment of new program participants
• Ensure a seamless transition of participants into the given program
• Coordinate and lead orientation sessions at project office and inside correctional facilities
• Cultivate relationships with a variety of stakeholders and community partners
• Give presentations at events, fairs, and other organizations
• Coordinate referral process and communication with partners
• Develop broad spectrum of promotional outlets
• Pursue opportunities for collaboration and increased community awareness of the program
• Inform participants of all CtS programs and activities
• Engage, participate, and contribute to assigned activities that further the goals of CtS
• Report critical data for grant purposes in database and paper files
• Maintain confidentiality of all participant information
• Any other duties that may be required

Experience & Qualifications:
• B.S./B.A. degree preferred or two years’ experience in nonprofit outreach in lieu of education
• One year experience in building relationships and/or successful networking experience in a community setting
• One year experience in public speaking to include: presentations at events, fairs and at other organizations
• One year experience in community outreach/program recruitment
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Must be a team player and have the ability to take change easily
• Ability to work some evenings/weekends required

• Reports to: Program Director
• Supervises: Interns (as needed), Volunteers (as needed)
• Internal Relationships: All Staff, Volunteers, Mentors, Participants

External Relationships: Potential Participants, Potential Volunteers, Potential Mentors, Prospective Employers, Guest Speakers, Partner Organizations, Referring Agencies, Community Organizations, Government Agencies, Educational Institutions, Companies
Additional Information: This position is full-time, salaried exempt position. Employee will be eligible for full benefits including health, retirement, and vacation benefits on the first of the month following hire date.
