Resource Bus Coordinator

Position Summary:
Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by Catholic Social Teachings by providing program coordination for Resource Bus operations in service of rural counties. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor program hotline and e-mail
  • Respond to all inquiries for appointments and community partner requests
  • Conduct initial phone screenings for client appointments
  • Coordinate and schedule client appointments for Resource Bus programming
  • Coordinate data entry and assist as-needed
  • Set and update volunteer schedule
  • Recruit and onboard new volunteers, as-needed
  • Liaise with community partners and maintain a community resource guide for Resource Bus communities
  • Ensure the bus is prepared for weekly trips (two days/week) – including loading of food, clothing, diapers, etc.
  • Assist with the creation of calendar and promotional materials
  • Other duties as assigned
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities
  • Must be willing to perform by the agency’s values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control, and joy
  • Catholic Charities promotes a diverse workforce.   • Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, current vehicle insurance, and a verified safe driving record
  • High school graduate or equivalent. Two year Associates Degree strongly preferred
  • Experience with data management systems is strongly preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially on the phone
  • Computer skills required: Outlook, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe, and Data Entry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and respect people from a variety of social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to work in a team setting, including Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas volunteers, colleagues, contractors, and funding sources
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Preference for Bilingual, Spanish-speaking
 
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving
  • Ability to lift and /or move food products weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Regularly required to sit for prolonged amounts of time – with occasional travel in a mobile bus environment
  • Must have the physical ability to make visits to a variety of environments that may include walking on rough terrain and climbing stairs
