Filmmaker Josh Fry grew up in rural Kansas as the only child of a movie-loving social worker and a photography-obsessed Methodist minister. After a childhood of unsolicited photography lessons, ''volunteering'' for mission trips, and marathons of old movies, Josh was more than ready to study film at the University of Kansas. After graduation in 2001, Josh's career began as a commercial producer/director for a television station literally in the middle of a cornfield.
Eleven years of working in both film and television has won Josh many nominations and awards, including an Emmy for a short documentary he shot in Africa about the HALO Foundation. The HALO Foundation documentary was picked up by Current TV, aired across the United States, the UK, Ireland, and Italy, and inspired Katie Couric to request footage to use in her own piece on the HALO Foundation for CBS. Following this success, Josh decided to strike out on his own, forming Ambitious Pixels LLC, where he creates short films telling the stories of brands and nonprofits.
