About Us

Youth R.I.S.E. began when a Kansas City Missouri School District middle school teacher and a Kansas City Missouri Police Officer observed that the youth within the Kansas City communities were experiencing a sense of anomie that fostered a very short-sighted perspective on life, causing many of them to lose faith in their possibilities and true potential.

Youth R.I.S.E. continues to reach many youth that have otherwise been labelled as ''unreachable''. Through mentorship, we have provided opportunities for these youth to develop skills and learn about teamwork, leadership, resilience, responsibility, the importance of education, interpersonal skills, and athletics.

Over the years, Youth R.I.S.E. has grown to support a large number of youth from Kansas City Missouri, Kansas City Kansas, Lees Summit, Belton, and Olathe. Youth R.I.S.E. has emerged into one of the few youth mentorship programs that truly focuses on this population within Kansas City, leading it to triple in size within one year.
