About Us
KC Healthy Kids connects communities to close health gaps. We forge partnerships with other organizations and elected officials to boost the ability of communities to identify needs, develop plans and advocate for comprehensive change to protect and improve kids’ health and well-being. Our focus on community education, local and regional advocacy and direct support has impacted the lives of thousands of kids in the Kansas City metro area. KC Healthy Kids was founded in 2005 by Dr. Frederick Hartwig, a local physician who wanted to address the growing public health crisis impacting children.
