A Milestone Day for Kinetic

Dot A Milestone Day for Kinetic
A Special Message from Matt Beem, Chairman and CEO
(LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM) It’s a milestone day for Kinetic. In an event earlier today at the House of Lords, we celebrated our acquisition of Skylark Works Ltd., an Oxford University social venture spin-out company.

Kinetic President Karin Cox and Skylark co-founder Jonathan Smith, who now serves as Kinetic’s United Kingdom Managing Director, joined me and a select group of guests at the event. The acquisition reflects Kinetic’s confidence in its unique fundraising approach, which distinguishes and makes us the firm of choice in the United States and around the world and is the platform on which we're ambitiously expanding.

Jonathan, who created Skylark with two colleagues and Oxford University Innovation in 2020 to foster meaningful, expansive collaboration between donors and charities, often talks about the way relationships drive philanthropy in our AI-focused world. As I reflect on today’s announcement, I couldn’t agree more.

Kinetic’s work with Skylark grew from Jonathan’s and my longstanding association. We met in October 2017 at Exeter University, and our professional bond grew naturally in the years leading up to, during and after the pandemic.

Our relationship – and our firms’ – enabled Kinetic to actualize a long-held belief that tremendous upside opportunity exists in the United Kingdom to bring our unique fundraising approach to charities eager to strategically grow philanthropy and expand their impact. Since beginning work with Skylark three years ago, Kinetic has formally engaged with and continues supporting charities through more than a dozen contractual relationships in the United Kingdom and Western Europe, a clear affirmation of the philanthropic difference we facilitate. Along the way, Kinetic has developed its own deep well of association, which holds great promise for the future.

Kinetic’s driving goal is to help nonprofits and charities around the world unite passionate donors, committed volunteers and capable professionals. Together, they spark the power of philanthropy, which creates financial gifts more meaningful to donors, more fulfilling to volunteers and more rewarding to members of staff. The cornerstone of our unique approach is relationships, whose wise stewardship continues to define the most successful nonprofits in every charitable sector.

As Kinetic celebrates its acquisition of Skylark, we remain laser-focused on helping nonprofits and charities around the world unleash their power of philanthropy. In the years ahead, we look forward to welcoming more firms in the United States and abroad to the Kinetic family as we continue leveraging our unique fundraising approach, exceptional client service and strong financial position.

Our acquisition of Skylark reflects a shared belief that relationships are the cornerstone of philanthropy in countries and communities around the world. Kinetic’s ability to help nonprofits and charities unleash their power of philanthropy has no borders.
