Legal Aid of Western Missouri seeks a Project Director: DIY Divorce for our Volunteer Attorney Project team to assist with the DIY Divorce website. This position will report to the Director of Volunteer Attorney Project and will be housed at our Central Office in Kansas City Missouri. The Project Director: DIY Divorce will support and guide the creation of the DIY Divorce statewide self-help website and will run a task force dedicated to creating plain language questions that will generate forms for Dissolution of Marriage.
Some of the duties include:
- Lead a task force in the development of comprehensive content for the website under the supervision of our Domestic Supervising Attorney:
- Research and compile accurate and up-to-date information on Missouri divorce and dissolution procedures.
- Create user-friendly guides, FAQs, and scripts of educational videos covering all aspects of the divorce process.
- Review content with legal experts and the task force to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct Outreach and Community Engagement:
- Partner with local community organizations to promote the portal.
- Launch a marketing campaign targeting potential users through social media, local media, and community events.
- Gather user feedback post-launch to continuously improve the portal.
- Coordinate with the Volunteer Attorney Project to implement the use of the site in Pro Se Dissolution courses.
- Stay up to date on substantive law and keep website content current under the direction of the Domestic Supervising Attorney.
- Lead expansion of the website.
- Other duties as assigned.
The qualified candidate must have the following:
- Four-year degree or related experience.
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite using word processing and statistical reports.
- A desire to assist in the delivery of high-quality legal assistance to low-income people.
Pay: $25.64/hour + DOE
